Protecting venues, guests and crowds from fire and security risk — in spaces built for people to gather.
Theatres, cinemas, arenas, leisure centres and entertainment venues bring large numbers of people together under one roof — so fire detection and security have to protect crowds as well as the building, without getting in the way of the show.
A venue is really several different risk profiles in one: tall auditoriums and foyer atria, backstage and technical areas, kitchens and bars, plant rooms — and very often an older or listed building where running new cabling is difficult. Out-of-hours access and busy event nights add security demands on top of fire safety.
A typical venue strategy runs addressable detection across auditoriums, circulation routes and back-of-house, with aspirating detection in tall volumes such as foyer atria where a standard detector reacts late. In older or listed venues, wireless detection can be installed with little disruption to the building fabric, while access control and video surveillance cover staff areas, stages and perimeters. Where tall auditoriums or foyers call for it, aspirating smoke detection adds very early warning.
Every site has its own risks. These are the kinds of spaces we help keep safe.
Theatres, cinemas and venues bring large crowds together, so fire detection is planned around fast, orderly evacuation as well as the building.
Leisure centres and attractions often combine large open spaces with plant areas, and wireless detection can be added quickly with little disruption.
